Confidence & Self Esteem
We have all had times when we lack confidence and don’t feel good about ourselves. But when these feelings occur frequently or constantly it can have a harmful effect on our mental health and our lives.
Having self confidence can mean that you have a positive belief in your own abilities. However, if you lack confidence it really can have a massive impact on your life either socially, at work or both.
This can lead to increased levels of anxiety, stress and depression.
Self Esteem is different to self-confidence, it is how we perceive ourselves and feel about ourselves. If we have high self-esteem, we will often feel good about ourselves and have a positive outlook on life. Those that suffer from low self esteem will usually be very self-critical and focus on their negative thoughts about themselves.
If you are suffering from low self esteem and/or low confidence you may find that you tend to hide yourself away, avoid social situations, you may feel tired all the time but have difficulty with sleeping. I feel so strongly that everyone has the right to feel good about themselves, and if this is something you are struggling with, it is hugely important that you seek help to take back control and live your life in a much more positive way.
